Hi,
i have this drive stuck in busy state.
I try translator regen, but i always get error (with every translator command that i send).
I can't even access to SYS files via serial port, i always get 'serial port error timeout'.
Motor spins good, no head clicking, good calibration sound

If i try to do anything in utility, it goes busy (but DRD and DSC flags stay on) and get LED CC error on terminal

OK, i uploaded LDR with MRT, now i can access to SYS. I'm writing back original SYS from backup :)

P.S.
I had backup LDR from this drive before i started to play with 2 weeks ago.

ok i will test LDRs on both tool, the reason why i'm working again with MRT is because i've an older sediv version than yours, which i think doesn't support sys writing (i still have to activate the last version).
I will check this too when i get back on sediv system (tomorrow).
Thank you, now i'm going to sleep. :)

My last sediv version is 5.1.6.20 and does support SYS (read and write). :)
Sediv seem supporting MRT loader file, this is good.

I'm doing some experiments on this drive now, i let you know more soon, thank you.

Yes, my sediv version supports reading/writing SYS only via ATA. I should update it so that i will be able to 'play' with SYS also in serial mode.

I wrote back all tracks by using MRT (sediv doesn't have utility for read/write tracks).
At this time i wrote into SA 0 all tracks that i have backup at beginning (i mean when the drive didn't have yet LBA limited access problem) from SA 1.
Then i started surface scan, i couldn't access into first sectors, but i can access into sectors afterwards until the last LBA (this means that limited LBA access is fixed) but there are further problems...
I did clear G-list (NG was already empty), then i started zero fill but when erase finished i found again a lot of g-list entries, so this means that drive has surface damages or weak heads (or both).

I made a video for you Spildit (and of course for everyone who want to see it) to show you that the drive has physical problems.
I think heads are good but there are a lot of damaged zones, expecially on surface 0

yes, i think we have to disable bad zones.
I don't know if my sediv version has option to cut zones, but mrt should have it.
I will try to cut bad zones with mrt, you might try with sediv
:)
