Hey everyone. I have a super annoying problem with my Lacie d2

Firstly i have alot of music on my windows. I decided to choose NTFS. I transfered the files which took me 4 hours of waiting. After that i plugged it into my mac and i could read but not transfer anything. That is OK, it is NTFS. So i searched on google and found out that i should use exFAT. So what i do is to format the drive on windows 10 to a exFAT drive. I then try to transfer something over to the external, same on the mac and it worked! However here comes the annoying part.

After 4 more hours of waiting for the music to transfer on my windows, i plug the external drive into my mac, and now the disk does not show up!! I tried to go into disk utility and it is still just greyed out. I also cannot activate the drive!!!

I have been ejecting the drive properly at all times, so what the f am i doing wrong here? Does someone know how to fix this issue without saying that i need to format my external one more time ?

Im just going to use this freaking drive so i can transfer over some music from both operating systems, MAC and windows. How can this be so fkn hard to do ???????!

All i can say is that it worked using exfat on windows and mac before i started to transfer over all those big music files

Hi, exFAT should work...but if I had done it I've formated the drive to exFAT in my Mac...not in Win10, I've seen problem with it before.
And for NTFS in Mac there is a good program: https://www.paragon-software.com/sv/home/ntfs-mac/

Hey and many thanks for you answer! I will use if it continues to be like this. I however changed the allocation size to default. It seems to not be greyed out anymore, atleast i hope. Still not done with transfering over the music :)

If you leave it plugged in long enough it will most likely appear. Do it overnight and in the morning you might see it has mounted.
