I cannot solder a new usb connector in place of the one broken. I've already seen the links you gave but it didn't help me and I don't want to replace by a sata connector :s
I don't really know how to repair it now

I've find a way to make it working temporarely.
I've solder the power like on hadner's screenshot
and I've solder the TX/RX like that :

When I connect the HDD, it works and I can recover my datas but regularely it fails, I just have to unplug and plug again.
Thank you all for your help

Hello, just joined because a friend of mine has that HDD with an unsoldered connector and wanted some help to get his datas back.
I tried soldering a new connector even tho there were 2 damaged (data ones) traces. I thought I 'd use some conductive paint for the damaged traces.
Had the USB plugging sound in Windows followed by an "Unrecognized USB device" message. Gave up with that method.
Then after reading through the thread, I tried the quoted wiring.
-So now Windows knows the HDD is plugged (USB plugging sound) but the drive doesn't appear in the panel although the "Samsung S2 USB driver" seems to be properly installed in the device manager.
-Blue light is solid and the disk spins.
-EaseUS Partition Master tells me the HDD doesn't have a letter and only allows me to delete the partition. Same in Windows storage managing window.
So my questions are :
Is there a chance my first failed attempt somehow erased the disk or damaged some chip on the board so the datas can't be retrieved?
Or there is absolutely no way a disk can erase itself without being properly told by an OS?
Thanks for your answers!
