I have a problem with the Seatools software. I use a USB3.0 enclosure case + a 500GB Seagate HDD. I connect the cable to the PC's front USB 3.0 port and start the scan with Generic Long test. At some point, the scan is automatically aborted. This happens with both HDDs, both enclosure cases.

What could be happening? Both HDDs are in good health according to crystaldiskinfo and they are new.

Connect it via SATA, much more reliable.

That why us who work in data recovery nearly always convert USB external drives to SATA.

I bought this HDD and unclosed case to use as an external HDD, it is very complicated to open the PC and always put the HD in for testing.

Look at logs, probably says "aborted by host". HD Sentinel, Victoria, smartctl can display logs.

But you seem to fiddle with drives all the time, it's probably time to get a cheap tower that you simply leave open.
