But when I had tried to do business plan for DR company, the cost of single pinout sometimes reach 50% of total cost of service some other companies are offering for whole job. It is sometimes more profitable to outsource the work and get 10-20% commision then pay for 50% pinout and this is just starting point for all the work.
Buying pinout is of course a kind of investment for a company, but with this huge amount of different cards on the market buying pinout for single job it might be not profitable at all. I wonder who can afford for that these day.
These pinouts are for established data recovery companies who have already invested time (years) and money into buying professional flash recovery hardware and software. We are doing flash drive recoveries everyday. These are just add-ons to the databases we already have. So paying a relatively small amount for a pinout, as opposed to spending hours working it out with a logic Analyzer makes perfect sense (even if it is hit and miss with controllers).
