Hi there, I have problem with one of four drives in Desktop and need help
hard drive shows sata gen2 (SATA/300) instead of sata gen3, while other drives show normaly sata3 (SATA/600) on the same cable and sata connector on motherboard
Motherboard is ASUS prime z270-p 4x SATA 6Gbps, but tried on 2 more computers, the result is the same.
Is there a tool (WD) to change the transfer? If not, which module in the WD firmware is responsible for the mode transfer (HDD alias is Diablo3S)
Thanks in advance

Check the DCO settings with HDAT2.

That said, you will not see a discernible difference in performance between 3Gbps and 6Gbps. That's because the drive's maximum sustained transfer rate is about 150MB/s.

Thanx for the quick response, I know that the drive can't even reach the full speed of the sata 2 interface, but I want to know what is the cause of this, why it does not support sata 6gbps and is it a bug in the wd firmware
HDAT2 shows:
settings
DCO status: frozen
CMD7 DEV6 HIGH5 MID4 LOW3 CNT2 FEA1
00B1h 0040h 0000h 0000h 0000h 0000h 00C2h
0051h 0040h 0000h 0000h 0000h 0000h 0004h

on raw "modify" (same results)
nothing happens

I suspect that firmware module 0x02 or 0x0C would have this setting, but I don't know which byte(s).

The demo version of WDMarvel can read these modules.

I'm assuming that the OPT1 jumper is not installed.
