This is an sshd drive which one day wouldn't spin up. I tested the diodes and fuses on the board. I removed one of the diodes because I thought it was bad but it wasn't. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Most likely a NAND related problem.
Post terminal output.

Find a USB-TTL serial adaptor that can support 1.8V I/O.

Actually looks like that other one I sent doesn't do 1.8 volts so this one should work I think https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TX ... GFAQ&psc=1

That's a 3.3V / 5V device. You need one that supports 1.8V.

So it got delivered today and the connectors on the cables that came with are too big to fit in the connector on the drive. They look to be 2.5mm wide and I think 2mm wide would fir. What should I search for to get the right size?

I found some wires i had that I was able to use. I hooked up the rx tx and gnd with the rx, tx flipped on one end and hooked power up to the drive. I was able to get into the putty terminal and tried pressing control z but nothing would pop up on the terminal. The tx light on my adapter would blink each time I press control z and the rx light flashed when I supply power to drive but I couldn't get anything to show up in the terminal.

if the rx led flashes a few times when you power the drive, then you should see something in putty. Have you used 38400/8/N/1 config?
try making a test by connecting RX to TX, then type any chars in putty, you should see them as you type (local echo must be disabled, otherwise you see what you type anyway, or see it doubled if RX-TX bridged)

I am using that config. my parity is none and flow control is none. I bridged the rx and tx on the adapter like you said and I was able to see what I typed. I was not able to before. I connected to the drive again and this time with the adapter already in the usb port and I got one cursor block of squiggly lines and once I powered the drive on I still get nothing showing up and I can't see what I type.
