Hi,

Recently I got an 32GB USB 3.2 HP x796w drive. As I was writing an ISO image I never had any problems with before with rufus (tested on 3+ 32gb drives) it froze up on me. I tried to:
Quick format
Normal format
Clean under diskpart
But to no avail. I get random write errors, random no storage block under ValiDrive. CapacityTester also fails to finish saying this 29gb drive is 12gb (cannot write past 12gb). The controller itself gets scorching hot while formatting too.

Any ideas what's the cause?

1. There is a section for flash: Flash storage, SSD
2. The idea: this flash a fake.

Flash memory is
Code:
HVKLFJL
022330K
b 3HB VKLL

Sometimes Capacitytester says max it could write is 3gb or 6gb or 9gb, so ig now, since the controller is getting scorching hot (it will take me a moment to read the markings off of it), ig it will be the culprit? The software also told me once that "The written data didn't match the read data. Drive might be silently corrupting data".

Sounds like it's saying "throw me in the bin".
