For use with SATA DVD drives, 2.5" HDDs, 3.5" HDDs, and SSDs, what is the best brand and model of this type of adapter? in aliexpress many brand and models different

I already used a generic one and it died, so I'm looking for a better model, brand, and one that's more durable.

I have a blueendless USB enclosure that uses USB-C but a USB-A to USB-C cable is readily available. My enclosure has two USB-C and two USB-A ports to support daisy chaining etc.

USB DVD drives today come with a USB cable to be used with laptops. DVD is real cheap, BD is also more affordable while 4K is the top model at about $90 USD

check the usb cable maybe its short if it is change the cable.contain only 4 wires/

My first SATA>USB was a ugreen one similar to yours. After some usage smoke came out of it.

Now I'm using a Media Tech MT5100 40pin IDE/44pin IDE/SATA>USB 3.0 adapter, and I must say it's quite rock solid. It uses an external 12V PSU to power the electronics, so there are slimmer chances it will go up in smoke again. Sometimes you need the IDE HDD to be in master mode since it sometimes doesn't detect drives in slave.
There are some similar noname models to MT5100 with a few changes, i.e. the power switch is on the adapter itself and not the PSU.

I have not seen smoke from any of my enclosures but I have seen some PSU blocks fail. Most are very cheaply made so failures are common.
