This 10TB came out of a Avolusion external enclosure intended for a PS5. Owner said the PS5 stopped detecting it. I removed the HDD from the enclosure and tried connecting it directly to my computer via SATA power/data, but the drive did not spin up. Removing the PCB, I found a fuse and a TVS diode blown. I removed the TVS diode and fuse which cleared the short and ran a very thin piece of copper wire (This wire gauge is what is used to run jumper wire on iPhones, so it is very thin.) between the two points for the fuse and left the TVS diode off. Reinstalled the PCB to the HDD and attempted to power on, still no spin. I took the PCB back off and checked my copper wire and it's still intact. There are no further shorts that I can detect on the PCB. I did some random probing looking for voltages and I see 12V, 5V, and several smaller voltages such as 0.5V and 0.9V at various spots on the board, but to be honest, I don't really know what I am looking for in terms of voltages on HDD PCBs and where I am supposed to be measuring.
I could just buy a replacement board and swap the ROM, but I wanted to see if this was worth trying to fix first and was hoping someone might be able to help me. I have linked two pictures. One shows the entire board and the other shows the area with the removed TVS diode and my jumper wire across the two pads for the fuse. Thank you.
