 Post subject: Will there be any need for discware in the near future?

Macronix will be producing 3D NOR flash chips that will have the capacity to store all of the discware. Will HDD manufacturers go for it, or will they stick with the "free" option?

NOR storage has far better endurance but stacking them like NAND has not attracted much research.

Most of my NAND SSDs I own are > 100 layers
