To see the hard drive mechanism while it's working  , I made a new transparent cover, with the top in plexyglass, taking that from an hold broken hdd. Then I have replaced the cover of my working hard disk (MAXTOR 6L080L0 - DiamondMax10 - BAJ41G20) with the new transparent one.
I did the swap in a very short time, to reduce the probability that the dust goes inside. Then I have used the HDD normally.
The day after, the hard disk became crazy (and me too!): the heads have gone to hit repeatedly to the center! I have disconnected it. When I have tried to reconnect it again, the hdd has stopped clicking, but it is not working now! The BIOS recognise it, but it takes a long time to do it; the motor spins, the heads moves slowly from the inner track to the outer one (recalibration?), and then they stay there.
What kind of damage I have done?
Thanks to alll you Guru!
Carlitos

PS: now I have ordered one Raptor X http://www.wdraptorx.com :D

Carlitos,
Probably the dust or other trash left in the HDA damaged the head/s
But I can offer you another great opportunity for your disk ;) http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/1223 ... iyyoo8.jpg
(no bad feeling)

ehhehe, thank you for the suggestion! I will do it with another drive! I will sharp all my knives! :D
But if the heads are damaged i should ear a strange noise, right? In my case, the hard disk is still quiet!
Is it possible that a firmware corruption was occurred? Can I try to swap the PCB (if i will find one equal)?
When I swap the PCB, is it possible to damage the second one, if the drive has a problem?
Thank yuo very much for your reply!
Carlitos

Because I can't access the drive. The BIOS takes a long time to recognise it. After the plates spin, and after a movement of the heads, they stay on the outer track and I can do anything.
I don't know what's happened...i'm only thinking about. You are the guru, not me!! :)

i think u did not pack the hdd properly the dust went into the hdd after u packed it by some that u might have left open in or not packed properly in the platter.

And the pcb thing first of all the firmware problem comes in the hdd by curruption of modules nothing to do with pcb .
