Fix mode does not erase the data!
Self Scan erases the data!
You can run Fix mode and it will try to repair the currupted modules in your Firmware.

Hi.

I have a problem with a Maxtor Hadr Disk (Fireball 3 or 2F040L0).

When the BIOS autodetect the disk, it show "MaxtorARES C64K".
I know that the problem is Firmware, because the PowerMax Application show that the other things are OK. Only the BIOS Recognition fails.

Thanks if anyone can help me.

Hi.

I don't have any of these programs, so I already have the problem.

The Maxtor Firmware Repairer that is available on Internet only can fix a Maxtor 541DX (2B020H1 2B010H1) and I have a 40 GB Maxtor Fireball 3 (2F040L0). I'll try to change the logical card (if I find another disk with the same reference)

IF U NEED TO RECOVER YOUR DATA ..

U NEED TO RUN IN SAFE MOD PUT JUMPER IN SAFE MODE

1- FIRST START UTILITY THEN SEE ON VIEW STATUS SHOULD NOT SHOW BUSY MUST SHOW READY STATUS THEN GO START WORK..

2- HDDGUIDE THEN PRESS RWEMS

3- THEN CHECK INFO IF SHOW U INFORMATION OF DRIVE THEN PRESS

FIX MODULES.. YOUR DATA WILL RECOVERED AND YOUR DRIVE WILL BE IN DETECTION.. (IF U DO FIX MOD YOUR DRIVE CAN NOT WIPED)
DONT WORRY TRUST ON SALVATION PRODUCT..
