I have a MK6014MAP 2.5-inch hard disk drive and I have a problem with it. I'm unable to make this drive to work with my notebooks. I have a TOSHIBA Satellite Pro 430CDT notebook and a Toshiba TECRA 8000 notebook. On both notebooks, the symptoms are the same.
The symptoms are the drive spins up, HD light remains lighted for about a minute at power on, TP diagnostics find no drive, TP low level format routine finds no drive, and Road Warrior's IDEINFO.EXE program says there is no drive 0 -- only drive 1:

Except drive capacity wich is 6GB, all the parameters are correct. Any other programs (fdisk for example), does not find any drive installed
in my notebooks, so I am unable to install this HDD drive. How can I make this drive to work with my notebooks?
Master/Slave settings doesn't solve the problem.
Is it the drive defective? A firmware update will solve the problem?
Please help. I do not have enough money to buy another HDD drive.
I do apreciates any help that you can give to me.
