 Post subject: Common Seagate Problem

I have many hdd with a problem the hdd shows invalid serial no and capacity like if the original serial no is ST32041A then it shows sRT$)A3 and its capacity is 20gb sometimes it shows 40gb sometimes 10gb sometimes 28gb etc also it keeps on changing the serial no . I changed the pcb the drive become ok but i want to know which component was bad in pcb .

Thank you i changed the faulty resistance lower to the ide connector it worked .
