Hello there,
Can anyone help please, my acer laptop is locked out with a HDD password.
It's seagate Momentus 60 GB. Does any one know the default password or a way round it. Many thanks

If this is a unique case it's much cheapper to use AFF.

Hi guys, thanks for your advice.
will try these options, In the mean time does anyone know the master password, as I noticed on a previous post a user had a similar problem and a master password was available. Thanks guys.

Hi guys, Not having much luck so far, AFF doesn't support Seagate Momentus hard drives.

Then the only option is really using PC3K.
If you don't have it, contact someone that has it.

The dafault hdd master pasword is: "Vendor_name" + XXXX =32 Symbols
Where XXX- stand as alias of "Space", and "Vendor_name" is alias of the name of current vendor :) . Capital letter have matter.
Anyway i do not think this would help since usually laptop change the master pass to some unprinted characters that can't be typed.

This is not the master password for seagate drives !! .

The right Master password is as Samo said in his hint.
