Hey Guys .. I have a WD 1200UE Scorpio ( laptop drive )
that a customer brought me ..
this was an external drive and the customer dropped it approx 1 to 1-1/2 feet .

The drive doesn't ID
when it spins up I can hear the platters rev up and slow down a few times and then stop .
I don't hear any clicking sounds ( it even seems like the heads my not be leaving the parking area)

I haven't opened the drive yet as I want a direction to go before I proceed ..

Does this drive have a shock sensor , and if so where is it located

Also I don't think the drive was running when it was dropped

any help greatly appreciated

Thanks
Steve

Beto had asked about registers .. that was the way victoria showed them .

I found the problem ..just what one would expect from dropping a drive .
One of the heads totally gone (as in Not attached )
