 Post subject: need help realy badly, so please help with maxtor diam9plus

Hi all, i got firmware corupted on my 80gb maxtor ide (bios detects as maxtor calypso) , 6y080P0 so please anyone could send me hd doctor for maxtor or hdd firmware repairer pro to email roland_galkus at yahoo.com
i got so much important data on that drive, and so little money for recovery service. any help with this software would be very helpfull

1. HD Doctor for Maxtor is a Hardware device.

2. HDD Firmware Repairer Pro is not a free product, it is copy protected with dongle, so no warez.

You cannot fix this with free s/w.

so i wonder now, is the hdd firmware repairer pro a software solution ? or it needs a specific hardware too ?

A Dongle is a hardware, usaly placed in usb, com or lpt port.

ok just a simple question :) i got maxtor 80gb 6y080p0 calypso family,

is there anyway to fix its firmware without a specific hardware, using just my own pc and software ?

im thinkin about pc-3000.. ?

Nope. Nothing you can do with standard PC & free software.

PC-3000 is partly hardware based too.

And VERY expensive.

ok ;) than i will ask is there anythink i can do with a standart pc and buyed software ? :)
i mean can i fix firmware via IDE interface only ?

Only if u have a lot of knowdlegment about ATA protocol´s ,know Vendor commands, know about programming language , on this language, make your own tools to access vendor tracks, and try to repair it maybe u can do it this task by your own but , its not a easy job :wink:

the cheapest way is do it yourself, but it can take years just to learn how to perform the programming language.. :lol:

you can try AFF service. maybe they can help u with some fee ( anyway it's more cheap than buying those stuff 8) if you just planning to make one recovery )
