Expensive 40GB drives are nowhere near replacing 160GB mechanical drives. People have been waiting for literally decades for RAM/DRAM/EEPROM/FLASH to eventually replace the Hard Drive. However, as the years go by, we find more reasons for needing more space, and Hard Drives are the only technology that can keep up. Vista will make things more interesting, as it can take advantage of 'Hybrid Drives' that have some flash on board. One way or another, we're probably going to be recovering data from flash soon...
