This pile of rubbish contains 2 x Maxtor 300GB drives in RAID 1.

It appears the client updated the firmware, and the drive disappeared.

Using Netgear's UT utility sees the partition (it sees the name, although Windows does not allocate a drive letter nor see the partition) but their later UT_FULL utility sees only bare drives, with no spare capacity.

Netgear have been short sighted in using a proprietary file system for this product, so removing the drives and trying anything I have (plenty of recovery tools) doesn't help.

Anyone have any ideas?
