Apologies for the rather basic questions...

As suggested, thought I'd play about with a small known good drive to get the hang of the application before trying it out on a damaged drive. I have MHDD running on a drive on the primary IDE motherboard interface, a 6Gb drive formatted FAT32. Attached a 4Gb NTFS formatted drive to the motherboard's second IDE interface. All ok so far, and drives visible once MHDD is started up.

I'm trying to lift data off the "bad" drive (the 4Gb one), by using the ATOF command. System asks for filename so I give it C:\T001 but it ignores the "001". However, says it's creating T0000, and it goes on to create files sequentially upto T0004 to retrieve the whole disk.

I then remove the "bad" drive and substitute a freshly formatted (FAT32) 20Gb drive. This time I run FF and it all appears to rattle through and finish.

Where are the restored files?
What am I doing wrong?

Eventually figured it out... It seems the target disk has to be formatted FAT32, which I would have thought was rather limiting if you're trying to recover a big disk...
