I'm afraid I have to disagree. We have succeeded in repairing a couple of U6 series Seagate drives with HD Doctor for Seagate. In fact the first time we used the device was successfully we had a few hiccups until we were more comfortable with the software. Maybe you should try to arrange your schedule around Salvationdata's working hours for a day or two and contact Bruce via email. He spent some time working remotely with my husband at the beginning of this week and from what I hear it went quite well. My husband found his time with Bruce informative although we still have an issue with a couple of WD drives that HDD WD couldn't fix but that is still work in progress.
If you cant arrange to work same time as SalvationData staff then at least send them an email to support@salvationdata.com and include some screen shots so that they can see what you are up against.
The bugs that are mentioned in the post you refer to seem to me as if they were ironed out in the update...You are running this on 32 bit XP or win 2k I hope.
