One year ago I was rotated cord power .HDD PCB:301599100 was Damaged.(Q500 burning).Pream is OK, because on other PCB not burning Q500. Please help my.

I was testet changed PCB with other models series 6Y160P0042811 and 6Y160P0042211 and nothing happened. HDD engine started but data inaccessible.
I need equivalent FIRM like old hdd.

What I know about Maxtor DM 9 Series is the PCB as nothing unique you only have to find a PCB witch match your:

Bar code label: J4FYA

From any model in the DM 9 series (6Y80P0, 6Y120P0, 6Y160P0 ...).

I often swap board witch as not the same Bar code both the PBC has the same physical configuration (same board layout with CPU mem ROM (and all other electronic parts be careful) place in the same order ans it works) (dont try this at home hehe).

Can you provide us more detail is it clicking? is it well detected by the Bios? You you disconnect it can you feel it spin for a while (more than the work Maxtor DM9) after the power is out ?

You might also have an other problem (Firmware witch might occur when the board crash) sometime I see crash PCB cause by a bad Spindle motor.

I might have a compatible PCB if its not a Compatibile HDD Donor PM me if you want more detail.

I changed a lot of PCB for 6Y series. but still today i did not find any problem. Successfully works.
After swapping the PCB in your hd, you got no detection, right? spinup / spindown. there might problem also in your BOOT file at SA.

N.B. I saw a lot of 6Y Series hd, after a long time if we dont use the hd head or other SA damage.

Any other problem have to be on HDA, corrupt firmware , etc....

No clicking and bios HDD detected OK but like new PCB model no like old type. Label sick on PCB oposit ATA interface is diferent like original HDD. IS it OK? (small differences on PCB part for IC L7250E) I can get picture

if u see the hd is detected correctly 6y160p0 or maxtor calypso then the pcb working fine.
next step is to check few sectors

If I replaced other PCB 301862101 ( code YAR41BW0 K,M,C,D ,6Y160P0042811 and label stick M8FYB) motor spindle start on and corect run alike heads landing corect on media no click or other bad sounds[i][u][/i][/u]
But BIOS in the PC not detected HDD. Original parameters my drive:PCB 301599100,CODE: YAR41BW0 K,G,B,D 6Y160P042201 and label stick J4FYA
Is it not problem in difference characters (K,G,B,D) below code FRM. What means this characters?

Your PCB is working fine right now.
The hdd is not booting right now. I said b4, I saw a lot of 6Y series hd, after a long time those does not work if disconnected from PC. Most cases, the SA damaged. You need to boot the HDD in terminal mode in this situation to access your data. If you cant solve the problem, you can send it to me.

BIOS NOT DETECTED HDD. I am think problem is no corect PCB for this drive(small differences SMD partsoposit original) because label stick is different from original. ORIGINAL: J4FYA and tested: M6FYA. I will by check other good drive with no equivalent label stick (of course identical FRM code). And wrote result.
Do you think reading from HDD over serial interface and hyperterminal? What is SA and B4?

B4=Before
SA=Service Area.

After connecting the correct PCB, the might not work also due to firmware corruption. Maxtor hdd (mod57# or #56), in most cases, corrupted, then the hdd could not be recognized by BIOS, or detected by bios in factory mode.

It is better, if you can upload your both PCB- the damage one n also the working one.

after replacing the PCB, is your hdd spinning?

if spinning then the PCB replacement is OK.

then you have to access the hd SA in T-Mode to correct corrupt MOD#. but if there is problem with your P-List then you should make backup first. If you are beginner about SA, you should not perform the job yourself, you might loss your datas forever, you should consult with a data recovery specialist.
