Hi,

I have a Hitachi HDT722520DLAT80 PATA drive, with spin up problem.
The pcb looks good, no burnt chip, no short circuit, no overcurrent.

I think it is NVRAM problem.
If i read out the NVRAM can somebody help me to find the problem?

Thanks,
Janos

Hi ,
i am Still to Get The right tools For the Same ,But i Have a Case With
Hitachi Travelstar HTS424040M9AT00 thats is very similiar .Yes this is definately a NVRAM issue .You need to recover this with salvation of UDMa Pc 3000 .Do You Have Any of these Tools ,If Not You Can Find Same Type HDD and try pcb,If The NVRAM Matches ,"Very Less Possibility it wil Work "

Hi, Amarbir,

No i don't have any of these tools. :(

But some years before i learnt that, the IBM/Hitachi PCB is very sensitive to exchanging from drive to drive!
Some of my pcb is 'locked', and don't want to start the original drive too.

Now, i think, asking somebody to help. :)
I can make quikly a programmer for the NVRAM, but still need the knowledge to know, what i need to check and correct.

Thanks,
Janos

Hello,

We have a lot of good tools, but phisical tools, not programs what anybody can buy.
We have an excellent clean room too. ;)
And a lot of knowledge to do a successfully recovery. (electrical and mechanical problems)
The last time when i toying with eeproms/nvrams is when i was 18 years old (about '97) on my ericcsson cellphone. :D
Almost all recovery can done without any special SA programs, like this one.
I only need to find the matching donor.....

Am i right? ;)

But if i ask, possible can save a lot of time...

Thanks a lot for helping people!

Regards,
Janos

ps: You can send your hdd if you want, i will do my best, its your turn!
