Hi there.
I'm newbie in this field.Don't realy know this much abt digging in to the deep.I have few large capacity HD's, diagnostic programm saying disk have some S.M.A.R.T. failure, and strongly reccomended to replace drive. I wanna fix it if possible. So if anyone knows is there way to reset SMART data? Please help. Thanx.
The hard disks are of Western Digital brand with SATA interface.
The tools I currently have are HDD Repair V1.1 and HDD Repair V2.0. I have access to a DOS version of PC-3000 (the machine with the PC-3000 does not have Windows).
I have tried using HDD Repair V1.1 and HDD Repair V2.0, but neither program detects the hard disks. I have attempted to use PC-3000, but found it difficult; its text was in Russian (which I do not know) and had many executables. It was difficult to determine which executable was necessary to cperform the desired function.
I request assistence with the resetting of S.M.A.R.T.
