what sector to start cloning from in xp pro or xp home, some drives the data recovery is so slow, i just want to save time and starting data recovery at say around 30 000 000 roughly 1.5 gig in, depending on what service pack they have installed, anyway, i would like to get my documents folder, i know that it maybe scaterred all over the place, just wondering if sector 30 000 000 is a good figure for xp pro & xp home, or am i just talking crap, definiteley not an expert here, just finding this sort of stuff interesting, thanks for the feedback

what I have observed in Xp with NTFS file system, MFT starts from Sector 60,000,00 and goes upto 72,000,00. So if you can copy those sector it will be easy for you to access the file correctly.

This is what i do mostly
