I am a fluent Russian speaker and I still have to think about some slang on forums like ixbt and ihdd.

So, if you get confused...

Fish = Seagate Barracuda
Woodpecker = IBM DTLA series drive
Screw = hard drive
НЖМД = hard drive

I can think of a number other similarly interesting slang terms and nicknames.
