Hello everyone,

I was curious on what you believe to be the best hard drive for storing video recordings from an IP camera (here is the type of IP camera products I am talking about). I have never thought to ask this question but considering I found this forum, I thought it would be a great idea!

I setup large installations of IP cameras that record to a server that houses many hard drives (5TB+) and each hard drive is raided for redundancy. Is there one type of hard drive that would handle this type of use better than another?

Seagate makes a good A/V series drive but what capacity are you looking for?

I know that we sell lots of WD RE2's into the CCTV market. We have had no warranty returns or problems with them
