 Post subject: Maxtor 6L160P0 bad sector problem

Hello

Hapy new year to everybody!!

Let us start
Hard drive DiamondMax 10
6L160P01332B1
BAH41G10
K,G,B,A
C 306
26AUG2005
MADE IN Singapure(2)
E.board A8gla

Problem
The drive works ,firmware loads without loader,,but when scaning 2500 block ok 2500 bad 2500 block ok 2500bad ........the whole drive has problem.
I think somethings wrong in plist,some translator but im out of clues!!
When scaning firmware everything ok,no bad sectors in sa, every module ok!! :shock:
Translator reload ok,but the problem dosent go away!!
Anybody had similar expirience :?:

Likely it's a weak head. When switching to the bad head you have the bads. At your option depop head and/or selfscan it - maybe need to edit the script - the drive will turn 120 or so but will work, instead of a full 160 not utilizable.

I dont know the week head,but it could be!
When scaning in victoria it looks like
OOOOOOWWWWWWOOOOOOWWWWWOOOOOOWWWW to the end of drive
O is for ok
W is for erasing256 block

Had similar problem on diamond max9 but it did go for first few gb!after that ok

If everything ok at pcb and sa, honestly I think only a headswap can work. Or try a different imaging method.
