Hi,

I have a Hitachi Deskstar HDT725050VLA360 disk that doesn't spin up. The noise is close to the "stuck spindle trying to spin up with siren" on page http://datacent.com/hard_drive_sounds.php in Western Digital section.
As far as I know it was not fallen, but maybe shaken or switched off-on rapidly.
Do you have any ideas what can be the problem, what can be done?

I think it is most probably a stuck spindle.
There are some things that can be done, but it requires special equipment and experience, so it is recommended that you contact a professional DR firm if the data is critical. We can also help if needed, see my profile.
