Hi all,
I am a technician in a small town in France and I want to start a data recovery service outages on software only, I want to do it so professionally. I seek to know what equipment I need to start, apart from all the software that you can find on the net.
Thank you for your interest in my question and good continuation to all.

you don't need a t8 for software only recoveries.

Hi,

If you are trying to start a Software only DR company. You need

1) A good PC which can support IDE,SATA Harddisks
2)SCSI card , converters
3)IDE to Laptop converter
4)A Telephone/mobile number for others to contact you.
5)Get some visiting cards printed, it makes you look more professional.
6) Good marketting/contacts in the market to generate business,

Cheers,

Knowledgment about FS Structures, :D like black st said, some times the Software doesnt have "eyes" to check what its wrong and they tried to repair "automatically" i got one case some years ago tried one case with 2 partitions, the access was lost to the partitions show was showed 2 partition but cant access , i tried the most software at that years knowed gdb, rstudio, etc, they can recover a few data from the most important to the costumer 1st partition, after tried and tried and doesnt get good results, i was checking manually all sectors byte to byte until find the error, the OS moved the FS, Boot Sector, Directory to the last cylinders, i find it , record on the original position, did another steps, and got data back

You need to do your research like the rest of us did at one time or another. Anyone can open a logical data recovery service with a website (even with a video of a guy juggling customer drives on a couch) and a few programs. In my opinion, I really hate logical recovery based businesses because they only handle one side of data recovery and can make the problem worse.

Agree,
In many cases they do make it worse.
We get a lot of drives which was handled improperly in "computer repair shops", which claim they do data recovery.

Hello everyone!
Thank you, thank you very much for your contribution, I did not think there would be many answers so quickly, I am very happy with this site.
I have a budget to purchase specialized equipment, I learned about 3 solutions in particle
- Data Compass Kit
- Insight and Disksens Atole (which seems miraculous)
- PC 3000
I want your opinion on them and I ask the Commissioner not to participate because I have already communicated by mail with a representative from each distributor.
thank you again for your advice, good luck in all your endeavors. Sorry for my English.
BR

U were talking about logical level software level, well im think u should on first understand the 2 leves, of DR, logical (High level) and physical (Low level) , when u are talking about PC3k, Atola, etc that tool are working at Low level what does it mean the HDD works some like this, ATA commands status register " waiting to command" (DRDY DSC)--> BIOS ---> Int 13h ( At this level works the O.S At the most Utilities ) access to x LBA, when the HDD its not detected by BIOS, the soft cannot do nothing , because need to comunicate with the "low level" by ATA commands, getting ATA registers, etc, and there more low level, but we are not going to talk about that, its so deep, well if u want to work with High Level its difference that works with Low level "another world" to understand the low i suggest u undestand on full the "high" , like Physical Level on Network´s Streams (Application, Presentation, Session, Transport, Network, Data Link, Physical ) its a analogy very similar, we are working on "physical & application layer"

Regards

You may need clean table also. Maybe, not right at the start, a bit later. As for tools, I recommend you PC-3000, their products have a checked good practise. In my job, they help me a lot.
