hello GURUs
I wonna know if i can change the PCB of my WD 5000KS-00MNB00 with the same PCB model and firmware version and wonna know if I have a chance that it will work
have anyone done it before? cus I have been told the the new models of WD r not as the old ones and the PCB is very hard to be replaced even if by the same model and date the country and firmware version....

Why do u need to did pcb swap?, the first its did the proper diagnostic ,

Just try. If you are lucky it may work. If not, try swapping the Flash chips. :D

I have replaced PCBs on these with success, but only rarely. You need specialist tools to force a donor PCB into compatibility with the failed HDD.

Adnan: Like Beto says, why do you want to change the PCB. Maybe it isn't necesary. What's the failure of your disk?

i really dont know but its not powering up...i didnt remove the PCB to take a look at the chips ...could it be something minor on the PCB which can be changed ???!!!!!
