Its a program that shows the hdd serial number and from some accounts also change it. I didnt think that was actually possible without using a piece of hardware as well. But doing further research I saw that salvation data also used to have a program that did the same thing, HDD Repairer (Seagate) PRO , but they dont seem to sell that anymore. I dont mind paying for the program but the pc3000 is more than what I need just for one simple operation. This is the first time I havent been able to locate a piece of software. For a while there I actually thought that the program didnt exist and was just a scam but I saw that some people had used it. Any help on this would greatly be appreciated.

Why do you want to change drive's S/N ? Defeating a program's protection ? Or is there any particular reason to do so ?

No, nothing like that. I just need to replace the hard drive in my personal media player. The one that broke right after the warranty expired. I paid 400 for the stupid thing and they want another 200 to replace a hard drive that probably cost them 40. The locked the device to the serial number of the hard drive. Im not willing to give any more of my hard earned money to them.
