I have an old Storix Fusion 20GB External HD. When I plug into the USB, the red power light comes on and the blue disk light blinks for a bit... however, there is no spinning and the disk doesn't show up as connected under 'My Computer.'

What are my options, other than professional data recovery?

Check your PCB for any damages.
Also try to connect your drive directly to your computer.

Probably author tried to connect HDD to IDE :
"doesn't show up as connected under 'My Computer.'"
If you need the data go to data recovery company, if no forget about your drive and buy new one.

Well, I removed the HD from the casing and the PCB, however, the pins are a little different than what is in my desktop. Keep in mind, this is an old 20GB HD, about 6 years old. The drive is actually made by Toshiba. Any other tips? I'm new at this type of stuff. Thanks!
