I have two Maxtor 6Y120L0 drives which click on power up, not seen by BIOS. When I first heard the click, I shutdown the machine and started to image the drives. One was unable to be seen by BIOS, steady click when powered on. The second I was able to image about 90%, which may be everything I need from it.

As an OEM drive, the label does not have several of the common details, like code.

I tested the preamps via pepe's guide and find them both good.

Can I find a replacement PCB?

040110200 Ardent C5-C1
L7250E 10 (some say 1.0 but I can not see it)

Should I find a replacement PCB, odds the PCB replacement will allow the drive to be imaged?

Your drive's code is this: YAR41VW0
The drive have some factory fault, and the ROM is modified to workaroud this.
It is hard to find a pcb wich have exactly this modification.

Anyway, don't worry, if the drive is clicking and the preamp is good, and the -5V is on the right place, then the heads have problem, i am 99.9% sure, so you don't need another pcb.

Pcb should be fine, drive not.

I have that board available for sale, but it probably won't help you to access your data.
Most likely one of the heads on your drive has failed.

Haven't seen the drive, but seems one head K.O. or serious service area problem. With proper equipment diagnose is immediate. Hope there is no media damage due to head crash if one head is physically failed. I think it's time for a pro....
