I have a client who lost a database file after trying to back up the file from pc to external drive using "cut" and "paste" , no such file was found on both pc and external drive.

.accdb is the file extension, anyone know what is the header file for ACCDB? trying to search through using rs found none, gdb none, rmfiles none.

Or maybe Msaccess 2007 created a backup temp files somewhere?

Always check the simple things first... Did you search under windows for the file?

Maybe it was accidently moved to the wrong folder or renamed.

I know its simple but its commonly done.

Try this header:

00 01 00 00 53 74 61 6E 64 61 72 64 20 41 43 45

did you look in the recycle bin , since cut is the same as delete.

yes recycle bin emptied, undelete found none, header search no results.
