Hello All,

I am looking for a donor hard drive which is pretty hard to find by itself . By using collective experience of everyone on this forum. I wanted to know if you can guide me the bare minimum essential attributes that should match between the patient and the donor hard disks to have the maximum probably of working replacement parts. You can also mention any conditions which are manufacturer specific (Seagate, Maxtor, WD) and which are universal.

That would be a big help so I can search the donor hard drive more specifically.

My Patient drive attributes as follows:

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11
Model: ST31000333AS
S/N : 6TE08QZ5
P/N: 9FZ136-568
Firmware: SD35
Date Code: 09204
Site Code: SU
PCB (printed on right corner of PCB) : 100512588 Rev A

Thanks.

The more you match the better your results

Dear Zero Alpha,

Its a very vague answer. Everybody knows that more matching is there, the more is it going to work. If you are a professional then I guess something more than that is expected from you.

Often it is very hard to find an exact identical model of the same drive in any market (local or abroad). So how much and what values should match at minimum.

Thats why I needed to know some minimum essential attributes (like model no, part no only or Firmware no as well) which needed to be matched for any substantial data recovery process involving a DONOR drive.

Thanks.

Your answer is in this forum. You just need to look for it.
