Hi,

My PSU blew at the weekend and has taken out my Western Digital WD1200 120Gb ATA drive (along with my Samsung SpinPoint F1 i posted earlier)

Unlike the Samsung drive, i can connect the drive and the pc starts, but im am gettings some strange results.

1) The boot screen says it is only a 64Gb drive?
2) It seems to hang a really long time at the bios screen.
3) Windows cannot see the drive

I dont think its a short circuit this time, but i think one or more of the platters may be wrecked. Anything i can do?

There are no strange sounds / clicking noises and the pcb appears to be all ok/

Chris

Connect you drive as a slave then ( HDD capacity restore ) will do the job

Capacity Restore is saying the reported factory capacity = "-2" and that it cannot be repaired as the drive is damaged in some way.

guess its RIP hard drive?
