Hello. I have an wd 60 GB HDD that i'm scanning it with HDD Regenerator from hirens CD. It's scanning from 2 and a half days only 887 MB and from the data scanned so far , 1818279 sectors, 14195 was found bad and recoverd. With this speed it will take a mounth to finish the scan...i just need to extract the data not to repair the HDD, it's there something that i can use more fast to repair, or just to extract the data? or i need first to repair the hdd and after to extract the data? maybe someone who had this problem can help with a reply.
Thanks in advance for your replay.

If you let continue HDDregenerator it will likely kill your disk.
Sorry to say, but if you want your data, you'll need a pro. You need very advanced tools for that kind of recovery.

I'm sorry if that is not the answer you wanted to hear.

Best regards,

Dobre

Thanks for your reply Dobre. What i've got is Data Compass and Hdd doctor suite. The problem is that i send the Data Compass for some repairs so i'm just gonna wait to take it back and try it . Thanks for your reply.

OK, Data Compass probably could do the job. Best to wait for that.

Good luck.

Why in the world would you let HddRegenerator scan a hard drive for two days? I hope its not a customers drive. Somehow I doubt a DC user would stoop to using that software. HddRegenerator should have been marketed to people who wish to destroy drives.

This post is for HDD SPATZ...my friend...i left hdd regenerator going for 2 days, after i use Seagate HDD Diagnostic, and, after booting with Hiren's i got the data out, without using Data Compass or Pc3000, or other expensive tools that some of them i own. Maybe improvising, maybe beginners luck? who knows? Anyway thanks to the guys that really try to help(Dobre...) this forum, and remember, you didn't born with all the knowledge....you learned it...

I don't rely on luck when dealing with other people's precious data. What would you be saying if you caused a head crash and either cost your client their data or an extra $2000??? Yee HA Cowboy!

Seagate HDD diagnostic? Hirens Boot CD? HDD Regenerator? Suppose you have the old fashioned Data Recovery Hammer too? Maybe you need invest in a new fridge also

Seriously, you came here asking advice, and you got it: HDD regenerator is no good for the purpose you want it for. Stick to professional tools actually desgned and successful for data extraction and not HDD repair.
