 Post subject: WDC HDD operating in PIO mode

sir,

i dd buy an pci sata card and wdc cavier green wd5000aads 500gb sata hdd yesterday but when i setup my pci card and attach my hdd my pc(hard disk senital ) shows that my wdc hdd is operating at pio mode but in the device manager both primary and secondary channel show that currently operating at dma mode but the reading speed is very low of my wdc hdd i.e 3mb/sec and writing speed is ok i.e 17mb/sec i have tried alot to get this hdd working on udma mode but still no luck . so guys plz help to overcome this problem .guys i forget to mention one thing that i also have seagate 160 gb sata hdd when i attach this to controller its works fine as it should be i.e 14mb/sec read speed and 14mb/sec write .

In device manager (IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers) try to uninstall the channel (primary or secondary) used by this disk. Then restart the system.

Can you disconnect it and try the same cable with different hd ?
Does it show pio or dma mode ?

yes another seagate 160 gb sata hdd is working fine .
