All DR firms are different. Different techniques, experience in house equipment, varied knowledge, better parts selection etc. The only company exactly like i365, is i365.

Maybe you should give ontrack a phonecall, maybe that will give you a change of heart about the cost of data recovery.

Besides, what exactly is the price range you are looking at? just remember that you get what you pay for.

You have posted about this drive a lot. If you are close to Europe then you know there is pcimage in UK, xronis in greece, Pepe in Hungry, NC in hungry, take your pick and ask them if they want a go at this drive after the mess it is in. I think it is way too late for you and the data on this drive and it is time to retire this drive and get a new one. Leave it to rest and make a nice place for it to lay in a grave. Sorry to say this one but the drive is dead and how many times do people tell you the same before you can understand this one. But send it off to them they can help you. Maybe give pepe a pm and see what he will do for you on this one. He is good and all of them are good so take your pick and choose one and then if they tell you it is non recoverable then leave it alone and forget about it.

i know its dead, i am not trying to repair it, just get the data off it,i bought a new hard drive even before i started looking for a dr company. even if somone fixed it and it worked like new i wouldnt touch it. if you thought i was trying to fix it than you are absolutly right and i didnt explain myself good enough mybe.

on what are you basing that? the fact you are anoyed by the number of threads i started a while back?
this drive was to a dr compny, they said head crash, they didnt say it was messed up or firmware or anything like that. and i guess they dont deal with head crashes they just do software, no hardware. so i tried to finding out who is the best to a physical damage recovery, mybe just the heads faild, who knows.
there is no "mess" in this drive, its like evrey other dead drive.
mybe the data is lost, but you have absoulotly no information to base such a statment on.

He is pretty persistent with scratched calypsos, I know that for sure.
He gets the most possible amount out of them.

BTW the success rate is pretty much affected by the location of the scratch, take that into account.

The success based on the scratch's location.
Sometimes the drive is unrecoverable, sometimes 100% or close to 100% recoverable.
