Nice to meet you guys!
This is my first posting.

A strange thing is happening to my 2 different firewire external HDD enclosures.
The thing is...

1. When I turned on the enclosure, hdd is not spinning, so I took out the hdd put in my desk top the drive spins and good to go.

2. I checked voltage on enclosures, they have right voltage 12V and 5V.

3. I put same HDD to enclosures again only power connected and turn on --> No Spin...

4. Few days ago one of the enclosures HDD's tvs was burnt.

*Both drive and other equipments connected one surge protector.

Would you someone explain why this is happening?

Change the enclosure. You say it will spin and work when connected to your system then the problems is in your enclosure or second it could be in your firewire card inside your system. If you have a PCI firewire card inside your computer check this and make sure it is good, if not replace it or replace the enclosure and the firewire card that is in your system. You can try another PCI slot inside your MB to see if this will help you and make it work again.
