But human/hdd comparison argument i win =)

It is true that some low percentage of people eat right and exercise and still need heart surgery, but my main point is that everyone knows that doing these things (similar to keeping backups) will greatly decrease the risk of problems (heart failure, data loss) but still the vast majority of people out there will still fail to do them.

I do not get me wrong, so I think everyone has their right to choose, and you know how much it hurts in their pockets to spend money, but who knows if it's a bad professional DR know you can lose everything, what we see every day, all should show the consequences of a bad job on their websites. And just think too stupid to be fighting like this: My best tool is the other not mine is more efficient!! Not my retrieves all !!!!!! The grid tool is in our heads and the techniques we have developed over the years in DR, because if we were not telling us Bug'se any suggestions for improvement would be the tool it is today

I am sorry to say but, stupid is not the right word. Many of them just do not understand anything about computers, let alone a hard drive.
I get customers coming in here calling their towers a hard drive, or even their screen as a computer.

They are just ignorant. They are mis-informed. Not stupid.

Yes I also do data recovery, and also hate when they think they know everything, and blame us for their wrong doings. But as always...customer is always right.

rka your first point is spot on.

everyday users may not have the knowledge about computers that most do, which is understandable if they dont take the time to learn it... it would be like some of the engineers on this forum going into actual heart surgery to work... they wouldnt know what they were talking about or doing for that matter.

i disagree on the last part, customer is not always right, and especially in data recovery we know this because im sure you have seen as well as i have that these people do things that they shouldnt.. IT guys think they are the almighty computer gods (which they arent) and they think they know it all..

Not only IT guys : many customers, too. If they are internet-aholic, the disaster is complete. Anyway, ignorance, mis-information and stupidity have no excuse and A COST...
