very weird problem the hard drive is seen in the bios

but not at all in windows.


hard drive was dropped by customer but it still worked for them

told us they tried getdata back and it was picking the drive up
but it was failing on the read lba



there is no clicking noise and it sounds fine.


what you think possible wrong with it.

could be heads problem im thinking.

at least firmware have problem already. it's seem got weak head even bad....

yep it looks like its got a weak headstack.

the qeastion is can you do a straight headstack swap
or is the unit special alignment now on these drives.

if so do you think it might be worth a chance swapping the headstack over.???????

This is a scorpio drive...so alignment is not really an issue =)


check for media damage though.

why dont you clone first the good heads and try to see wich data you get.

i would tried clone by heads and maybe u can link´s to MFT and clone this are only until u get the most important data from client

there no media damaged at all no scratching or anything like that.

im going to try and clone with the good head and see what i get.

the drive is in the uk and im in canada arghhhhhhhhh

wow these hard drives are hard to come by why is that.????????

i found a company and just bought 3 from them.

they be here in less then a week :)
