Hi to all,
I am doing some research in a hitachi notebook Head Swap.
I am matching a lot almost everything but i still can not be 100% sucess with this.
In the picture i use the same model and with the same MLC, when change heads can not have ID.
Puting the heads back in the donor i can get ID.
Anyone have made this 100% sucess.
Would like to know if anyone have a good opinion in this.
Thanks

Just match model, part number and MLC (but not critical) you should then have 100% success.

You've got it turned around.
These should be a match, but you'll need a 160 GB donor drive. A 120 is missing one of the heads.

some of the 120G models have 4 heads too, but I could not find how to rule it out by the MLC (I must admit I did not check many drives, only a few.)

We do the same thing frequently, and it almost always works. Check PCB number as well - they should match.
