Hi! I have a problem with the WD1500ADFD. I turned off the computer before it complete its work. After that, it can not boot. I did a test drive using chkdsk. Everything was fine. Windows was start successfully. Then I turned off the computer normally. But then it can not boot again. Chkdsk was not help and hung at 25% after many hours of testing. Then I run MHDD with the option of REMAP. Somewhere on the fifth line started to appear UNC sectors one by one. For several hours it found more than a 20 in a row. I canceled the scan. What can I do? There are not important information. I want to restore the hard drive itself.

Heads were writing while the drive shut down. Mhdd and co. can do little, a special procedure can fix everything but not at user level. Refer to the nearest pro , he will know what to do and the quote I am sure is honest. Other methods are only cosmetic.

Try to clone it on another disk.
Use DMDE or HDCLone

S.M.A.R.T. is on the picture.
MHDD in ERASE mode failed at first UNC-block.

I found the warranty card of the hard drive. It was bought in 2007. The warranty period is 12 months. Although the factory warranty is 5 years old.
What else can I do?

If ERASE fails, there's little to do (at user level). The problem is a bit complex and unfortunately I cannot explain it here :(
