 Post subject: Windows xp not install in new Seagate 500 GB sata hard disk.

Hi,

I assembled new computer with core i7 2600 processor and Intel DH67BL motherboard.

When tried to install windows xp sp3 in new sata 500GB hard disk, it is not install and massage comes hard drive is curept.then I replace another new 500GB hard disk but same massage comes again.

Plz help me what is actual problem? And how to sort out it?

Please explain why you think this is a disk-related problem, which is relevant to this forum? You have tried another disk drive and the behaviour did not change, so it seems that (unless both disks have an identical problem - which is unlikely), the disks are not at fault here.

If I was in your situation, I would be researching that motherboard, and seeing whether it needed extra WinXP drivers, especially when using any of its fancy SATA functionality.

Google is your friend :) Have a look at the Intel site for those WinXP drivers... I found what looks to be the correct drivers within 2 mins of searching.

are you using a backup copy of windows xp

as some copies do not have any drivers for sata drives

that where your problem will be

like vulcan says

its very unlikely that both hard drives have identical problems

Temporarily reconfigure your SATA controller for IDE, legacy, or compatibilty mode in your BIOS setup. This will make your SATA drive appear as the older IDE type.

If your Windows installation then proceeds without problems, I'd be looking for Windows XP preinstallation drivers for your motherboard chipset.

i am having the problem same as yours with i7/dh67blb3 and 500gb sata Hdd..

hi

my problem solved y setting in the bios with the other option from AHC to IDE ..

this helped in installing and running cool and i faced lot of hanging whic i later found to be one of the locks for the cooler which are 4 is loose..

i turned the stock cooler of i7 2600k turning the lock.. solved the hanging of the system problem solved till now i did not face hanging or blue screens after that from 1month...
