eBay (Germany) showed 50 HD502HJ, and 3 HD503HI. If you search not only the headline, you'll find much nore, e.g. 86 HD502HJ.

A huge PSU must not e.g. fit to an office PC - PSU and PC power consumption should be equivalent. If a PSU runs with 60%..80% load, it fits best. Otherwise it is like driving Porsche in a city.

got a 500W PSU, and a ATI 4830 Overclocked and AMD Phenom x4 9650, so i don't think PSU is too big.

BTW i got mail back from webshop, don't think this PCB will work on my HDD, what do you think???
It's a Rev 01 R00 PCB, mine is Rev 02 R00. I see different MCU i guess.

Fact is, your PSU and / or hdd internal voltage transformers generated voltage spikes, because a TVS will NEVER die without overvoltage. You can measure that with an oscilloscope, to be sure.

To the PCB: Please try it, or buy a 100% fitting PCB. eBay is a good source.

Yes i Understand, PSU is being replaced, i also had an other 500W PSU.

I think i'll wait with the PCB shown on picture, just to be sure. I'm looking if i can find something closer to match.

Yes, i found an donor HDD, with PCB F3_1D rev 02.
So it's the same, do i HAVE to swap U12 serial flash ROM or can i try it first without swapping??? Or will it do more damage???
It's not that i can't remove the ROM, it's more simple without doing it.

Good luck, then.

If it works, don't forget to play also lottery same day as the chances are on your side but it will not last longer.
If it doesn't work, it's just because good will is not enough , sometimes. But keep trying. 8)

the question was: If i don't swap the ROM can it damage other component of my drive????
read something about data being written to NVRAM and you end up with two dead drives.
That's all i needed to know.

so i got my donor drive in and swapped pcb's.
Dead drive spins up now but bios doesn't go any further.
donor drive with old pcb, doesn't work, no spin up nothing.

so i think there's something with my pcb, haven't swapped serial flash rom BTW.
Maybe next step???

are you enjoying your answers BlackST????
why do you even reply at messages in the forum.
All you need is an automatic reply service with "Give me money, i'll fix it"
You're not quite helping here.

I don't want to handle your case in any way. You asked how to fix the pcb, it was not fixable by you and you were told about the chances. Then you asked what could be the donor, and you were adviced about being a waste of time and money, the donor by itself didn't work. Really want DIY? All you have to do is try at your own risk and expense. To me it could have been fixed perfectly right from the start...
