Hi,

I have this FUJITSU to recover the data, but clicks several times and power down.

We need to copy the ROM from PCB?

Best Regards,

Need to check for media damage, IMHO.

Hi again Jono,

Thanks for your info.

Firmware or platters or heads.

I will check inside the disk.

Thank you

Heads / platters. Look for a thin ring of damage.

Yes I know ... the ring with special effects, if we turn the disk ... and light.

But sometimes this disks have problems with firmware? Or IC?

What is more common in this ones MHT...?

Bad heads / media damage most common.

In trying to "diagnose" a hard drive remotely, playing the "odds" is useful, but you understand that it cannot be definitive, right? Nothing works better than examining the drive itself with the appropriate tools.

How have you determined the heads are bad? And can you see more than the top platter surface?

Thanks for your comments,

The heads - inspect with magnifying glass.

At moment no hardware/software to see read/write stat.

This a two dishes, the top is ease, the other faces with a mirror. Can't see the last face - the second dish.

Another procedure?

Best regards,

Neuron

Assuming you have the proper gear and experience, try a head swap. If the new heads fail, there was probably media damage. Re-test them in the donor drive. If not, you should be able to get your data.

MHTs have ROM chips. The firmware version must be the same.
