I must change PCB cuz i've made touch directly the PCB of my 2,5 HDD to the floor, once time i gone to spin it, it shows me:

Impossible to find the OS. So, i scorched the HDD!

On the HDD's label there isn't written the Part Numeber, so, maybe that number is the P/N?


P.S. I remember that i have this code different form that one on Ebay.

a "simple" PCB swap will not work on these HDD's.

The key to solving your problem is diagnosing the fault correctly.

I'm struggling to understand your post, but did the drive fall and hit the floor?

To me sounds like he dropped the HDD on the floor and he touched the PCB I am not sure with what but seens he feels he shorted it out when he touched it. Also looks like he has attached it again and not able to find his OS. So now he feels it is spinning up once he needs a new PCB for it. That is what I get out of this one.

No guys and sorry for the misunderstanding.

I supported the hdd to the floor, then i have connected the hdd through an adapter SATA/USB to my pc but evidently the contact of the PCB directly with the floor has scorched the HDD.

I hope to have been more clear. If not yet, please, say me it.

Toshiba drives contain "adaptive" data that is unique to each drive, so the PCB cannot simply be changed. It requires further modification.

Also, your photos are not good enough quality. It would be helpful if you removed the PCB and uploaded a photo of the component side.

as CK said, Toshiba drives have unique information to each of their drives on their boards. So a simple board swap will not work.

The code you are referring to is effectively irrelevant to recovering your data so please stop asking.

The PCB's are not equal, that is the problem. They contain unique data, specific to each drive, embedded in the PCB.

If your data is valuable, you really should seek professional assistance. However, if you are unhappy about spending $40, then perhaps your data is not valuable. A professional service will be a lot more.

As I said initially, you need to diagnose the fault correctly before you start swapping PCB's, etc. There are some users here who may help you to diagnose a blown fuse, etc.

To summarise, do not waste your money on a PCB as swapping it will not fix your problem. You need to diagnose the fault correctly. It may be a a fuse or it may be worse. If it's worse, you may need to swap the controller, which is usally a BGA chip on Toshiba HDD's and this is definitely NOT a DIY job.

You will need to transfer IC602 from your original board to your donor PCB.

Your local TV/AV repair shop should be able to perform the transfer.

However, before spending any money, check the fuse near the SATA power connector.

Ask IF THEY HAVE PRO BGA REWORK EQUIPMENT and then if yes HOW MUCH WILL THEY CHARGE. You'll wonder at the results...
This just because Italy is not China regarding labour cost and taxes.
Or invest some time of your life finding ways to do without.
In any of the case above it's big bucks at play.

IC602 is a DIP, not BGA. A simple SMT rework station, or even a temperature controlled soldering iron, will do the job. I'm aware of people who have had similar jobs done for US$20.
